Pumps up for BHPetrol and MyKasih
Fuel aid corporate responsibility initiative continues for the third year
On 5th April 2017 recently, BHPetrol and MyKasih Foundation renewed their collaboration by co-sponsoring food aid and fuel aid for 40 families who are beneficiaries of the MyKasih ‘Love My Neighbourhood’ programme in Kelana Jaya and Kampung Sungai Kayu Ara.
On top of the monthly food allocation of RM80 which is used to buy essential food items at participating retail outlets, RM20 monthly fuel allowance are given to them by showing their MyKad at BHPetrol Kg Sg Kayu Ara.
MyKasih Foundation Chairman and Co-Founder, Tan Sri Dr Ngau Boon Keat, explained, “The food aid and fuel aid programme is consistent with MyKasih’s on-going efforts to reach out to the lower-income group to support their livelihood and help uplift their quality of life, particularly those who are self-employed or operating small businesses from home.”
“The versatility of MyKad technology enables MyKasih Foundation to implement welfare schemes that suit different segments of society with fitting products or services.
“The cashless payment system is proven to be effective in eliminating leakages of funds. As aid is channelled directly to targeted recipients via the MyKad, it is able to track all contributions and how it is being used”, he added.
BHPetrol Managing Director KT Tan said, "We at BHPetrol feel very honoured to work with MyKasih as part of our corporate social responsibility programme. This is one way we can help low-income households cope with the escalating cost of living”.
Since its commencement in 2009, MyKasih Foundation has reached out to more than 230,000 low-income households in over 400 locations nationwide, out of which, 11,000 are primary and secondary student beneficiaries. To-date, more than RM 180 million worth of aid has been channelled to targeted beneficiaries using the MyKasih cashless payment system.
