MARATHONERS
PACK FIRST ORANGE RUN
KUALA LUMPUR: More than a
thousand marathon enthusiasts gathered at the Piazza, The
Curve in Mutiara Damansara, yesterday for the first ever
"Orange Run".
Organised by Boustead Petroleum
Marketing Sdn Bhb with the support of the Selangor Athletics
Association, the Orange Run was part of an on-going series
of exciting activities to promote BHPetrol's new corporate
identity, which was launched last month.
The 9km run was flagged off by
Boustead Holding Berhad group managing director Tan Sri
Lodin Wok Kamaruddin.
Four categories were set for the
participants based on their age groups, namely Men's Veteran
(41 and above), Women's Veteran (36 and above), Men's Open
(18 and above) and Women's Open (18 and above).
The Men's Veteran category was
won by G. Subramaniam, while M. Ramakrishnan and Goh Choon
Aun came in second and third respectively.
S. Devamani finished first in
the Women's Veteran (36 and above) category, followed by
Jennifer Ireson and Agnes Tee Yoke Loi.
Meanwhile, R. Muniandy bagged
the Men's Open category while M. Arultheder and S. Ganesan
finished as runners-up.
The Women's Open category was
won by Vally Michael, followed by Norlida Ismail and S.
Sanggeetha.
All first-place winners pocketed
home RM1,500, while second and third-placed winners won
RM1,000 and RM750 respectively.
Apart from the run, other
activities were held such as contests, a mini fun-fair and a
Kick & Win FIFA World Cup 2006 Premium Items promotion with
MasterCard, in conjuction with the 2006 FIFA World Cup.
Also present at the prize-giving
ceremony were Boustead Petroleum Marketing Sdn Bhd managing
director Tan Kim Thiam and General manager (Retail) James
Khoo.
