Helps Develop Go-Karting
BHPetrol has signed an the exclusive partnership agreement
with IRU1 Motorsports in its efforts to develop go-karting,
one of the fast-growing motorsport activities in Malaysia .
This partnership also marks the successful debut of the
BHPetrol IRU1 Racing Team in the go-kart industry with the
aim of changing the Malaysia go-karting scene and lift the
industry to new heights. The ultimate aim is to train and
produce competitive drivers for Malaysia.
“Throughout our history, we have not had any association
with performance-related sporting activities,” said James
Khoo, BHPetrol GM Retail. “Working with IRU1 Motorsports
will be the first and it gives us the opportunity to come in
at the grassroots level to train the young drivers into
professionals. Malaysia needs a pool of national champions
to go into a new era in the years to come.”
“BHPetrol is delighted to be associated with IRU1
Motorsports as they are well-known in the go-karting
industry. Their combination of visibility and leadership in
the sporting arena makes it a natural fit for BHPetrol’s
branding.” added Mr Khoo. “We’re looking forward to a long
and successful partnership with IRU1 Motorsports.”
A range of exclusive merchandise relating to the BHPetrol
IRU1 Racing Team will be available at selected BHPetrol
service stations in late February.
