An independent DW10 CEC F 98-08 Laboratory Test show that modern diesel engines running on unadditivised diesel experience 6.2% power loss after about 25 hours of running time. When the fuel is treated with the new additives at the minimum treat rate, power loss reduced to about 1.6%. At the maximum treat rate, the deposits were completely removed and power was restored.

Euro 5 Standard for diesel is a continuation of improvement from the previous Euro Standards (Euro 4, Euro 3, etc). The primary criteria in formulating and designing the newer diesel standard is focused on reducing the emission of harmful substances for the ultimate aim of greener environment. For example, sulphur which is the main pollutant of diesel fuel has been reduced from 50ppm (Euro 4) to 10ppm (Euro 5).
