The Launch of ‘Electric Vehicle Charging Stations’

14 FEB 2017

Petaling Jaya, 14 February 2017 – Boustead Petroleum Marketing Sdn Bhd (BHPetrol) continues to play their role in developing a sustainable community with their latest initiative to install re-charging stations for Electric Vehicle (“EV”) and Plug-in Hybrid (“PHEV”).  The owners of these cars can now visit BHPetrol Kg Sg Kayu Ara in Petaling Jaya and BHPetrol Sg Besi Harmony (after toll plaza towards Seremban) to charge their cars when they are on the move.

The charging stations are equipped with model Type 2, 3-phase, 22kW Fast Charger and car owners who wish to charge their EV or PHEV cars only have to bring their own charging cable. There is a dedicated ‘charging’ bay and the service is currently given FREE.

During the launch held earlier today at BHPetrol Kg Sg Kayu Ara, BHPetrol’s Managing Director Mr Tan Kim Thiam expressed his support on this new offer and his wish that it will increase the appeal of BHPetrol’s brand in providing convenience to the customers. “We will be providing more BHPetrol service stations with the same service in the future to cater for the demand” said Tan.

For this project, BHPetrol is collaborating with First Energy Networks Sdn Bhd (“FEN”), a fully-owned subsidiary of Tan Chong Group, to provide an EV Charging infrastructure and system to power “zero emission” mobility.

Five EV cars namely Nissan LEAF, Renault Zoe, Renault Twizy, Volvo XC 90 and BMW i8 were also exhibited during the launch.   Event invitees and customers were also treated to confectionary products namely Cadbury 5 Star and Vochelle chocolates together with Dequadin pastilles in conjunction with BHPetrol’s 11th anniversary which fell on the same date of the program launch ie 14th February.
