30 OCT 2017

KUALA LUMPUR: The five-day 2017 CarSifu Auto Show ended on a high note with a huge crowd thronging the show.

Many came to compare cars and decide on purchases, while others came to see their favourite brands.

Ten-year-old Neeraj Nadhav made his first stop with his parents, Dr Roshan Gunalan and Dr Poorani Ananda Krishnan, at the latest Mazda3 with G-Vectoring Control.

“My favourite car is the Ferrari!” said Neeraj, who was thrilled to know there were more cars ahead.

Jane Chong, 34, a finance supervisor, and her husband came to seek out possible upgrades.

“I’ve had a KIA Forte 1.6 for about five years now and I think it’s about time for a change,” she said as she inspected the Mazda3.

For New Yoong Chee, the expo isn’t about what he wants.

“My parents are quite old now and I’d really like to get them something new,” said the 41-year-old company director who was checking out the new Peugeot Traveller.

For Ng Kok Fai, 31, and his 33-year-old wife Kor Li Peng who is expecting their first child, the trip to the show was to take a look at the diesel-powered KIA Grand Carnival.

“I’ve heard quite a few good things about the Grand Carnival. It’s powerful and feature-packed.

“So far it seems that my wife likes it,” said the digital marketeer.

The auto show held at Mid Valley Megamall started on Oct 25.

Those who booked a car at the show stand a chance to win Sharp TV sets and air ionisers.

Featured were vehicles from Peugeot, Mazda, Toyota, Isuzu, Volvo, Honda, Nissan, Mitsubishi, Infiniti, Kia, Renault and Citroen.

Some of the cars on display were winners at the Oct 5 CarSifu Editors’ Choice Awards.

The five-day extravaganza was organised by Star Media Group and carsifu.my.

Boustead Petroleum Marketing and Silverstone Marketing are the Star Media Group partners in the awards and the auto show.
